Overview Chapel Annual Theme
NRCS’s vision is to prepare students who demonstrate the heart and character of God, and whom have developed a personal relationship with Christ that will be evident in their role in their personal and family life, their local church, their workplace throughout their lives.

How, practically, is this goal achieved?

Every day at North Rome Christian School, teachers, parents and administrators pray for God’s wisdom to dynamically reveal Jesus to students in every area of their life. The following summarize a few of the venues in which this happens:

  • Teachers and parents present each academic and elective subject from a biblical perspective. As a result, students become prepared to articulate a strong defense of their faith within all academic disciplines.

  • Each year as students take a variety of Bible classes, they are lovingly challenged to take personal ownership of their faith.

  • During weekly chapel services students experience opportunities to participate in worship, lead by student praise and worship teams.

  • Each year students join together to reach out to serve their community through individual and group outreach projects.

  • Upper level Bible classes create opportunities for students to apply their faith to topics about family, college, financial, marriage, relational, worldview and leadership that encourage students to evaluate their faith in light of pertinent life events.

North Rome Christian School is committed to providing opportunities for all students to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, students who possess a heart that desires to experience a vital relationship with Jesus Christ will find multiple practical opportunities throughout the school year.

A unique feature of North Rome Christian School has been the annual theme, which sets the spiritual direction of the school year. Past themes have dealt with Service, loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and body, kindness,  transformation, and strength.

Our theme for the 2010/11 school year is:

“Above all else, guard your heart.”

The verses that follow Proverbs 4:23 give context to where our new theme will take us. We need to guard our hearts in three main areas: (1) what we say, vs. 24; (2) what we see, vs. 25; and (3) where we go, vs. 26-27.

Verse 24:

1. Put away perversity from your mouth.
2. Keep corrupt talk from your lips.

Verse 25:

3. Let your eyes look straight ahead.
4.Fix your gaze directly before you.

Verse 26:

5. Make level paths for your feet.
6. Take only ways that are firm.

Verse 27:

7. Do not swerve to the right or the left.
8. Keep your foot from evil.

Verse 23b
tells us that the benefit of guarding our heart is that we protect “the wellspring of life.”

We need to make the Heart matters in Christ be the Heart matters that guide and director our lives.  Our prayer for all of our staff and students is to acquire a Heart for Christ in their daily walk and life.

A regular part of student life at North Rome Christian School is the weekly chapel service. Chapel is intended to aid the student’s growth
as a Christian with encouragement from God’s Word. Chapel also provides the opportunity for students to worship and praise God together. Chapel is divided into two sessions – K – 5
and 6 – 12. Special speakers from the local
area are invited to share inspirational messages appropriate for each grade/age level. Throughout the year visiting pastors, drama and music
groups, and special performers will participate in chapel. There are also opportunities for student groups to be involved through music, drama and leadership programs.

MISSION TRIPS

The Senior class will take 5 – 8 days for a missions trip in the Spring. The trip is an opportunity to expose the seniors to ministry opportunities where people have physical and spiritual needs. As a result of participating in the mission trip, students not only help others, but also experience discipleship and spiritual growth in their lives.
